Congratulations to Ashely Bell who was selected by Big Lakes County Council to receive the 2019 Return of Service Bursary. This $3,000 bursary was developed to help incentivize post-secondary graduates to provide their skills and expertise within the Big Lakes County boundaries following their graduation.
In September, Ms. Bell will be attending her first year at NAIT in the Medical Radiologic Technology program. This program is the art and science of correctly positioning the patient and X-ray equipment to produce and record images for the purpose of visualizing the extent of disease or injury to a patient. Students in this program will learn how to perform X-rays, including evaluating the diagnostic quality of images, patient care, and quality control as well as gain expert knowledge in radiation safety and protection practices. Following graduation, Ms. Bell’s goal is to work at the High Prairie Health Complex.
