Equipment Rental Program
Big Lakes County offers a fleet of rental equipment to support ratepayers with their farming needs.
The goal of the Equipment Rental Program is to provide reasonably priced options for hard-to-source or cost-prohibitive equipment. Through Council Motion, the rental program is run through a cost recovery approach.
To rent equipment from the High Prairie Administration Office, please provide at least one full business day’s notice to ensure availability and readiness for pick-up.
For equipment rentals from the Kinuso Administration Office, a notice of at least two full business days is required to guarantee availability for pick-up.
Deposits will only be accepted in the form of cash or cheques. The renter is to provide a separate cheque for the Damage Deposit of each rental. Renters may consent to leaving a standing damage deposit for the length of the rental season (May to October), so long as the damage deposit covers the maximum deposit required for any rented equipment. Online payment options are available to pay for rental fees, or payment can be made in person at both Big Lakes County Administrative Offices during normal business hours.
If the return inspection shows that the equipment has not been cleaned before being returned, a $150 cleaning fee will be deducted from the damage deposit.
All rental equipment must be picked up and dropped off between 8:30 am and 3:00 pm.

Big Lakes County also has a small fleet available for rent in the Hamlet of Kinuso, including a post pounder, cattle squeeze, and 14’ land roller.
