Big Lakes County residents are invited to review and provide feedback on the draft flood maps and reports for the Kinuso Flood Study.
The Government of Alberta launched public engagement on June 3, 2026, as part of a larger initiative involving 13 new flood studies covering approximately 320 kilometres of rivers and creeks across 19 municipalities and three Indigenous communities throughout Alberta.
The public engagement period will remain open until July 8, 2026.
The Kinuso Flood Study includes draft flood inundation maps, which support local emergency response planning, as well as draft flood hazard maps that identify floodway and flood fringe areas. Public feedback on these maps and all aspects of the study is welcomed.
