Big Lakes County Fire Services, in partnership with Alberta Wildfire and Kapawe’no First Nation, will be conducting a hazard reduction burn today, starting at 10:00 a.m., weather permitting, in the Grouard area.
The purpose of this controlled burn is to help reduce wildfire risk in and around the community by safely removing built-up vegetation that could pose a fire hazard.

- You may see smoke and smell it in the air during the operation.
- This is a planned and monitored activity, carried out by trained professionals.
- We kindly ask residents to avoid the area while crews are working to ensure everyone’s safety.
