Land Use Bylaw 15-2025

Council for Big Lakes County is considering a proposed amendment to the Big Lakes County Land Use Bylaw No. 26-2024. The purpose of proposed Bylaw No. 15-2025 is as follows:

  1. That subsection (r) under Section 4.12 Campgrounds and Resorts be amended as follows:
    Delete:
    (r) Camping stalls for Recreational Vehicles shall be designed in accordance with the following design standards:
    Minimum Width – 10.7 m (35 ft)
    Minimum Depth – 18 m (60 ft)
    *A zero-lot line setback shall not adjoin another zero lot line setback

    Add:
    (r) Camping stalls for Recreational Vehicles shall be designed in accordance with the following design standards:
    Minimum Width – 8 m (26 ft)
    Minimum Depth – 18 m (60 ft)
    *A zero-lot line setback shall not adjoin another zero-lot line setback

Copies of the proposed Land Use Bylaw Amendment may be examined by contacting the office of the County Administration Office between the hours of 8:15 a.m. to noon and 12:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday to Friday.

Any person, group of persons, or person representing them who claims to be affected by the proposed bylaw amendment may make an oral or written submission to Council for consideration. Written submissions must be received no later than 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 7, 2026 and must include the name of the signatories and how each signatory is affected by the subject matter of the public hearing.

The Public Hearing will be held on Wednesday, January 14, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers at the Big Lakes County Administration Office at 5305 – 56 Street, High Prairie. Any person wishing to attend the public hearing electronically must register to do so through the County’s website, biglakescounty.ca, at least five (5) calendar days prior to the commencement of the public hearing. A link will be provided to registered attendees before commencement of the public hearing.

Council for Big Lakes County is considering a proposed amendment to the Big Lakes County Land Use Bylaw No. 26-2024. The purpose of proposed Bylaw No. 16-2025 is to re-district Plan 262 ______, Block 1, Lot 2 (within SE 13-74-17-W5 South of High Prairie) from the Agriculture (AG) District to the Country Residential (CR) District as shown on the accompanying sketch:

Municipal Development Plan Amendment 17-2025

Council for Big Lakes County is considering a proposed amendment to the Municipal Development Plan Plan Bylaw No. 25-2024. The purpose of proposed Bylaw No. 17-2025 is to amend Schedule C-5 by re-designating Lesser Slave Lake Settlement Lot 35A for future development from the Parks & Institutional and Commercial/Industrial Designation to the Residential/Mixed Use Designation as shown on the accompanying sketch:

Council for Big Lakes County is considering a proposed amendment to the Grouard Area Structure Plan Bylaw No. 09-2018. The purpose of proposed Bylaw No. 18-2025 is to amend Figure 03 – Land Use Concept – Inset A by re-designating Lesser Slave Lake Settlement Lot 35A from the Parks & Recreation and Commercial Designation to the Residential Designation as shown on the accompanying sketch:
