Summary

Big Lakes County has two (2) Seasonal Full-Time Mower positions, from approximately June to September 2023(depending on seasonal conditions and workload). Duties are to conduct roadside mowing throughout the County using a tractor and mower unit, maintain equipment as well as other related duties.

Education & Experience

  • Valid Alberta Class 5 Operator’s.
  • Current drivers abstract.
  • Minimum grade 12 diploma.
  • Experience operating and maintaining equipment.

Knowledge, Skills & Attributes

  • Mechanically inclined, able to troubleshoot.
  • Maintain and service equipment.
  • Must be self-motivated, and able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Good physical condition.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • The ability to deal with the public effectively and courteously is required.

Working Conditions & Physical Environment

  • Use and operation of heavy equipment and attachments throughout the County.
  • Physical job requirements: May require lifting and carrying of up to 23 kg, bending, twisting, kneeling, squatting, crawling.
  • Dust and fumes.
  • Exposure to outdoor conditions.
  • All personnel working at Big Lakes County are governed by the County’s Health & Safety Policy.
  • Ensures all operations are conducted in a safe manner and in accordance with County Policies and Occupational Health & Safety Regulations.
  • Required to wear correct P.P.E as per safe job procedures.
  • Must check in as per Working Alone legislation.
  • Must follow all safe job procedures.
