FIRE BAN IN EFFECT
Effective at 4:00 PM on Wednesday, July 10, 2024
As of July 10 at 4 pm, a fire ban is in effect for the Big Lakes County Permit Area due to hot and dry conditions.
Under this ban, the following are strictly prohibited:
All outdoor wood fires, including campfires on public and private land, including designated campgrounds.
Wood campfires in backyard firepits.
Fireworks and exploding targets.
Activities permitted under the ban:
Propane and natural gas-powered appliances (stoves, lanterns, fire rings)
Open flame oil devices (deep fryers, tiki torches)
Indoor wood fires
The Fire Ban will be in effect until the wildfire conditions change.
