It’s Fire Prevention Week!
This year’s theme is “Charge Into Fire Safety™: Lithium-Ion Batteries in Your Home!”
Most of the devices we use every day — phones, tablets, laptops, e-cigarettes, power tools, and even toys — are powered by lithium-ion batteries. These batteries are powerful and convenient, but if damaged or misused, they can overheat, catch fire, or even explode.
This year’s campaign reminds everyone to Buy, Charge, and Recycle Safely:
Buy only certified, listed products.
Charge devices safely — don’t overload outlets or charge under pillows or on beds.
Recycle old batteries responsibly — never toss them in the garbage!
Let’s all do our part to Charge Into Fire Safety and help keep our homes and families safe.
