Big Lakes County is proud to announce its financial support for the new public splash park in the Town of High Prairie, contributing $136,000 toward the project through the Inter-Municipal Capital Funding Agreement.

The splash park, located near the High Prairie Regional Aquatic Centre, officially opened to the public on August 6, 2025. This exciting new space offers a fun, accessible, and family-friendly environment for residents of both the Town and the County. The location was selected for its convenient access to existing infrastructure and its ability to serve families throughout the region.

“We’re proud to be part of this exciting project and to support the Town of High Prairie in making the splash park a reality,” said Big Lakes County Reeve Tyler Airth. “This new facility will provide a safe and welcoming space for children to play and for families to spend time together. Investments in recreation like this not only enhance quality of life but also help strengthen the connection between our communities. We’re grateful for the collaboration that made this project possible, and we look forward to seeing it enjoyed by families across the region for years to come.”

Big Lakes County extends its congratulations to the Town of High Prairie on the successful completion of the splash park and offers a sincere thank you to the Buchanan Family Foundation for their generous donation that helped bring this project to life.
