Big Lakes County is pleased to announce that the first Livestock Veterinary Services Incentive has been awarded to Dr. Josee Marcoux of True North Veterinary Services in the amount of $20,000.
In 2022, Big Lakes County introduced the Livestock Veterinary Services Incentive to attract and retain veterinarians, veterinary students, and registered veterinary technologists who specialize in livestock care. The program aims to strengthen access to essential veterinary services and support the agricultural community within the County. This marks the first bursary awarded through the program.
“Supporting access to reliable livestock veterinary services is critical for our agricultural producers and the long-term sustainability of our rural communities,” said Big Lakes County Reeve Tyler Airth. “We are proud to award this funding to Dr. Marcoux and welcome the expertise she brings to producers across Big Lakes County.”
True North Veterinary Services provides mobile veterinary care for cattle, horses, goats, sheep, and other farm animals—delivered directly to producers with flexible scheduling. To book an appointment, please email [email protected] or call 780-837-0083.
