Big Lakes County is proud to announce that Duncan Will of Big Meadow and Ashley Klyne of Kinuso have been selected as the 2026 recipients of the Big Lakes County Wall of Fame Award. This award recognizes individuals who have demonstrated exceptional dedication to their communities and have made a lasting positive impact through years of volunteerism, leadership, and service.
“Volunteers are the heart of our communities, and Duncan and Ashley exemplify what it means to give back,” said Big Lakes County Reeve Tyler Airth. “Their commitment, generosity, and willingness to help others have strengthened Big Meadow, Kinuso, and Big Lakes County as a whole. We are proud to recognize their contributions through the Wall of Fame Award.”
Duncan Will – Big Meadow
A retired RCMP officer, Duncan Will has been a cornerstone of the Big Meadow community for many years. He has contributed more than 1,000 volunteer hours to the Big Meadow Hall Association, serving in numerous leadership roles including President, Vice-President, Treasurer, and Head of Maintenance.
Duncan remains an active member of the Hall Association’s Maintenance Committee and has dedicated countless hours to maintaining community facilities including flooding the community skating rink each winter, long after his own children had grown. His knowledge, leadership, and dedication have helped make Big Meadow a welcoming and vibrant place to live.
Ashley Klyne – Kinuso
Ashley Klyne is an Educational Assistant, community leader, volunteer, and mother of two who consistently goes above and beyond to support her community. She has served on the Central Slave Lake Agricultural Society Board for more than 10 years, volunteered with the Kinosayo Museum, coached school volleyball for over a decade, and recently launched a successful community drop-in volleyball program.
Beyond these formal roles, Ashley is known throughout the community as someone who is always willing to step forward and help. She has volunteered extensively with local events, including agricultural society activities, curling events, farmers’ markets, Christmas socials, dances, museum programs, and many other community initiatives.
While balancing a full-time career as an Educational Assistant and pursuing her teaching degree online, Ashley’s energy, leadership, and unwavering commitment to helping others have made a significant and lasting impact on the Kinuso community.
