Compass Assessment Consultants Inc. will be conducting property re-inspections throughout the County from December 9 to 13, 2024.
Why Assessors May Visit Your Property:
• Verify new development based on permits obtained with the Big Lakes County Planning Department.
• Review ongoing building projects and their yearly progress.
• Assess land use classifications, such as Farmland vs. Non-Farmland and Residential vs. Non-Residential use.
• Ensure accurate records by addressing re-evaluation requests and verifying collected property information.
Property re-inspections are a standard best practice for Alberta municipalities to maintain accurate and reliable assessment data. This program is monitored and audited by Municipal Affairs to ensure compliance.
County assessors will have photo ID badges and drive clearly marked contractor vehicles with County and Compass Assessment logos. If assessors have questions and residents are not home, they will leave a door hanger with contact details for the Assessment Department at 1-800-251-9711.
For any questions, please contact our Tax Clerk at Big Lakes County at 780-523-5955.
