Farm Stewardship Day
Big Lakes County and Lesser Slave Watershed Council are hosting a Farm Stewardship Field Day. Join us on October 9, 2024, at the High Prairie Agriplex for a county tour focused on watering systems, riparian management, and more. Lunch will be provided, and you’ll have the chance to learn about local management practices as well as funding opportunities available to producers. This is a great opportunity to discover ways to boost watershed resiliency on your farm and explore the funding options that can help support your stewardship projects.

East Peace Beef Cattle Day
Big Lakes County and Peace County Beef and Forage Association are working together to host our fall East Peace Beef Cattle Day. Join us on Friday, October 11, 2024, at Triangle Hall for an afternoon of perennial forages, herd health, nutrition, and predation. Dinner will be provided, and attendees are encouraged to stick around to discuss everything beef-related.

Are you interested in Agriculture but not sure what you want to do? Northwestern Polytechnic is now offering the Agricultural Operations Diploma. This 2-year course is running out of the Fairview Campus and provides students with both a classroom and hands-on education on everything from animal husbandry, to hauling, and equipment maintenance.
